The Chairman, Oyo State Road Maintainance Agency (OYSROMA), Hon Kamil Akinlabi has disclosed that the state government will need almost one hundred billion naira to fix all its roads across the state.
Hon Akinlabi disclosed this on Sunday morning while featuring on a Fresh FM political programme “Agbami Oselu”
The former federal lawmaker admitted that there are many roads across the state that needs attention but due to unavailability of funds, works are yet to commence on some of the roads.
He explained that a sum of one hundred billion naira which is the half of the state 2022 budget will be required to fix roads in the state.
Hon Akinlabi commended the state Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde for his support to the agency not minding the scarce financial resources which is majorly affected by the world economic recession.
The Chairman assured that rehabilitation work will commence on some of the roads immediately the current rain stopped adding that road no matter the area or location would be left untouched.
Hon Akinlabi highlighted some of the achievements of the state government through OYSROMA in the area of road maintenance and rehabilitation which included Sola Egbedeyi road, Adeoyo-Ring Road, Agbarigo-Jericho-Onireke, Idi-Ape, among many others.
