The Oyo State Governor Engr Seyi Makinde has disclosed that the state is still expecting about 300 COVID 19 results of the state due to a shortage of reagents required to process COVID-19 tests.
Governor Makinde also stated that the state is already in the process of acquiring more reagents in the shortest possible time, to enable it clear the backlog.
The Governor appeal for patience from those still awaiting their own results adding that the state will continue to conduct tests at the drive through/walk through testing centre at Adamasingba Stadium.
He said that in a bid to continue ramping up testing, from next week, government will be moving to other zones in the state to conduct the the test stressing that details of the schedule will be provided in due course.
Governor Makinde also explained that the patients at Agbami Chest Centre, Jericho have been moved to the Infectious Disease Centre, Olodo, to enable the government upgrade the facilities at Agbami.
The Governor thanked IHS Towers for the donation of an ambulance to the Oyo State Government and other individuals and corporate organisations that have continued to donate in cash and kind to the government’s effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
