Oyo Police Boss Commends Journalists On Investigative Reporting

The Oyo state commissioner of police Nwachukwu Enweowu has commended members of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, Oyo State Council for their prompt reportage aimed at reducing crime in the state.

The number one police officer in the state stated this during a visit to the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, Oyo state Council, Secretariat, Iyaganku Ibadan.

CP Nwachukwu Enweowu stated that the role of journalists can not be over emphasised because of the confidence members of the public retained in them.

He described the working relationship between oyo state police command and members of the NUJ oyo state as cordial and free of crisis.

The Police Boss thanked members of the union for comprehensive and detailed reportage especially on activities of the state police command.

Earlier, the chairman NUJ, Oyo State council Demola Babalola pledged continue cooperation of journalists in the state to police command so as to jointly ensure reduction of crime in the state.

The chairman later presented a gift to the visiting commissioner of police.

The Oyo State police commissioner was received at the centre by the chairman, NUJ Oyo state council, Demola Babalola and member of his executive council.
