Oyo NUJ Election: Buhari Expresses Disapointment Over Pre-Election Crisis

The senator representing Oyo North senatorial district at the Nigerian Senate, Sen Abdul Fatai Buhari has expressed openly his disappointment over series of crisis trailing the planned election of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists ( NUJ) Oyo state council.

Senator Buhari expressed this while featuring on Fresh FM Saturday morning live programme ” Political Circult”

Senator Buhari said journalists are expected to be role models and do things right and when the reverse is the case, then the society is in a very serious danger.

He stated that he feels so sad on hearing of many bad and negative intrigues that have so far trailed the activities of contestants especially the incumbent who has been alleged of many desperate moves all in a bid to ensure the disqualification of Ademola Babalola who is currently enjoying the support of majority of members of the union.

Also, Mr Dare Adekanmbi of Nigeria Tribune who narrated various steps taken so far by the incumbent to see Ademola Babalola a.k.a Dembab out of the race said the union since inception has never witnessed an election year like this characterized with desperate moves and crisis.

He said majority of the chapels under the state council had publicly expressed their support for Ademola Babalola as their preffered candidates and are ready to vote out the incumbent Adewunmi Faniran during the December 18,2019 election.

Hon Yemi Taiwo of Ido/Ibarapa in the house of representatives who was also a guest on the programme anchored by Mayor Isaac Brown called for calm and civility as the election approaches.
