Oyo NSCDC Warns Against Unlawful Use Of It’s Symbols

The Oyo State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp has warned members of the public against illegal use of any of its symbols, such as stickers, bannerette, logo and uniform indiscriminately.

This State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, CC Iskilu Akinsanya gave this warning during the weekly lecture held on Thursday at the command state Headquarters, Agodi Ibadan.

“Following the directive from the National Headquarters on the unlawful use of NSCDC symbols,Oyo state commandant appeal to residents of Oyo state who have NSCDC symbols on their commercial and private vehicles including motorcycle to remove them with immediate effect.”

“it has been observed with great concern the manner in which NSCDC symbols such as uniform, logo, sticker and bannerette are used indiscriminately and illegally by both staff and non-staff in private as well as commercial vehicles.

The commandant said this act portends great danger to the image of the corps and safety of the users.

Meanwhile, in order to check the unlawful use of the aforementioned NSCDC items so that criminals could not hide under the covers provided by the use of the symbols to perpetrate crime or evade arrest, the Oyo state command of NSCDC will be conducting a stop and search exercise in the state, starting from Monday 16th of March 2020, and the exercise will continue till further notice.

This is to inform the general public that the officers of NSCDC and other security agencies will be checking and arrest anyone found culpable of using the corps symbols in their cars,be it a private or commercial vehicle without been an officer of NSCDC.

“We are always ready to protect lives and properties of everyone in Oyo state, let everybody be law abiding as NSCDC will not condone any act that will tarnish the image of our organization.”
