Oyo State Commandant of NSCDC, Alhaji Iskilu Akinsanya have called on the members of the public to adhere strictly to the guidelines/rules of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in order to curb the further spread of Corona Virus across the State.
This was as a result of virtual training organised by NCDC for security stakeholders in Nigeria

He made this known today while declaring a day training exercise for officers of the Command on the Role of security Personnel in Containment of COVID 19 Outbreak.

Commandant Akinsanya while speaking on the Role and responsibilities of security agencies admonished the officers and men to implement Governments directives on curfew and Inter State lockdown with the fear of God and professionalism.

He encourage them to cooperate with Sister agencies and relevant Authorities such as NCDC by ensure consistency of messages to communities and share their feedback with relevant Authorities.

One of the facilitator Assistant Commandant Sheu Ibn Umar the head of the Disaster management Unit who speak on stigma and rumours advise the officers and men Including the members of the public not to listen to fake news flying on social media but confirm what is not clear to them from disaster management unit of the corps in oyo state or health workers .

The second facilitator who is the Command Public Relations Officer Supt Oluwole Olusegun who speak on effective communication for Containment of COVID 19 outbreak said Corona Virus is real and deadly, officers should take proper care of their equipments such as riffles, baton by disinfect them properly after use.

He advised them to take proper care of themselves because if they are infected they can infect their loved ones and the whole community.He added that they should not shake hands when greeting, wash hand regularly with soap under clean running water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer. Cough or sneeze into bent elbow. Regularly clean all frequently touched surfaces.

In the same vein at 1345hrs today the enforcement team of Oyo state command swoop on ikolaba small mosque to enforce lockdown order of the federal and state government banning religious activities because of covid 19 following intelligence report on the activities of the group.

Immediately they sighted the officer and men of NSCDC they all took to their heel.

The state commandant Alhaji iskilu Akinsanya warn all religious bodies in the state to obey the law and comply with the rules and regulations regarding covid 19,as anybody that err will face full wrath of the law.
