The Oyo State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA) Mrs Dolapo Dosunmu has counselled residents of the state on the needs to protect themselves from the recently surfaced disease “Corona Virus .”
Mrs Dosunmu in an exclusive interview with Nigeria Alert reporter emphasised the need for the people of Oyo State to be on alert and guard against the ravaging “Corona Virus” as well as other diseases rearing their ugly head this time.
The NOA Director explained that there are various sensitisation plans being put in place for the residents of the pace setter state which will help them to protect themselves against this disease.
She said till now there has not really been tangible proof on how this disease can be contacted but it is believed it moves in the air for anybody to be contacted while another source is that of bat or sea animals.
Mrs Dosunmu emphasised the need for people to embrace the act of constant hand washing any time there is a contact with sick person while any symptoms of running nose,fever, cold among others should be promptly reported at the nearest hospital.
She further advised people with poultry farm to always wash their hands anytime they had contact with their chickens as well as putting on masks and rain booths when they are in their farms.
Mrs Dosunmu advised transport workers to always cover their nose because of dust and even the passengers they carried while advising them to also share the tips on simple tips to guide and guard themselves against disease.
