The Minority Leader, Oyo State House of Assembly Hon. Asimiyu  Alarape has charged the sitting governor Engr.Seyi Makinde  on the need to adopt automation of government  system and introduce centralisation of unified  identification  bank  for all government workers in the state.
The legislator representing Atiba State  constituency  made the urged  in a motion moved by him at the floor of the House during the plenary session on Thursday.
The lawmaker said the process of automation and technologies through e-government  can bring benefit across numerous functions of government in various ways like lower operation cost , more efficient processes and less wastage and error.
Also,  that adopting the motion will assist the government In creating  data bank for workers in the state and getting adequate and appropriate information of the employees.
He added that ” This is the trend in the 21st century which the government and  every body most embrace and that the impact of automation in  government also include improved service delivery, transparency, consistent data and fraud prevention and boost employment satisfaction. ”
He observed that the introduction or global acceptance of the internet  accessibility has aided e-government, e-business, e-training development and many other services in the world today.
Hon Asimiyu urged the Executive arm of  government through the office of the head of service to consider automation of government system a priority and a panacea to administrative errors.
