The President, Ogun state Solidarity Movement (OSM) Lekan Shobo Shobowale on behalf of executives and members of OSM has felicitate Muslim in Ogun State on the celebration of the 2021 Eid-el-Kabir.

This was contained in a statement he personally signed which was made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital on Wednesday.

The President who is also the spokesperson for Yoruba Patriots Movement (YPM) urged Muslim faithful to uphold their obedience to Allah and the spirit of forgiveness for one another.

He described Islam as a religion that upholds the spirit of love, peace and charity and preach harmonious living relationship with other religions adherents.

He appreciates the Muslim community in Ogun state for supporting supporting the government and for being good citizens.

He advises Muslims to expand the spiritual benefits of Sallah by ensuring and promoting peaceful co-existence with each other and people of other faiths and shun violence and religious conflicts in whatever form they may manifest.

He enjoined Muslims to pray for and conduct themselves peacefully before during and after the celebration.

He advised the faithful to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice which Prophets Ibrahim and his son, Ismaeel, exemplified, an occasion which is being commemorated yearly,
thousands of years since.

According to him: “Let me congratulate all Muslim on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el- Kabir Festival.

“I want you to use the occasion of the festival to demonstrate that the world is united by our common humanity.

“You should continue to pray fervently for those things that would promote unity of the country, and pray against things that threaten the existence of Nigeria.

“You should also pray for the leadership of the nation,asking God to grant them all that they require to work for the progress of the citizenry.

“On behalf of the executive members of OSM and all members government, I wish
you all a merry celebration.”
