Few hours after Corona Virus(COVID 19)was detected in Nigeria, the former Oyo State health commissioner and OSI Bashorun of Ibadan land CHief Dr Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has called on Nigerians to join hands with the federal government in curbing the spread of the newly arrived disease in Nigeria.
Chief Dr Adeduntan in a release by his media aide Lekan Shobowale said all hands must be on deck to ensure that no life of any Nigerian would be lost to the disease in the nation.
The former Governorship aspirant during the 2019 general election in Oyo state emphasised the need for people in all the states of the federation to rally round medical personnel’s,ensure personal hygiene,through hand washing,avoid crowded environment at this time and rid the nation of corona virus as it is a droplet infection.
Chief Dr Adeduntan cited the successes recorded in Nigeria at the time a Liberian, Patrick Sawyer brought Ebola into the country as a result of collaboration among all agencies of government and timely dissemination of information by people. He furthered counseled on the need for prompt washing of hands and avoid unnecessary congregations henceforth.
