The Minister of state, Labour, Festus Keyamo has directed recently appointed Chairmen of State Selected Committees to proceed with their work unhindered as only President Muhammadu Buhari can stop their work.
Mr Keyamo gave this directive while reacting to purported suspension of selection process of 774,000 jobs by National Assembly Committees.
The Minister explained that the National Assembly Committee do not have powers to pass binding resolutions and they can only make recommendations to plenary.
He said the power of the National Aseembly committees under section 88 of the 1999 constitution is only limited to investigations but not to give any directive to the executive.
