Ondo Election: Oyo To Supports Ondo With 7000 Card Readers

Ahead of the October 10, 2020 Ondo State Governorship election, the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mamood Yakub has disclosed that seven thousand card readers will be deployed to Ondo state from the INEC office, Oyo State.

Professor Yakub disclosed this while speaking with Journalists on the recent fire that gutted INEC office in Akure, the Ondo state capital and the level of preparedness of the commission for the Ondo state governorship election.

The INEC Chairman assured that the Ondo and Edo governorship elections will not be postponed as being speculated in some quarters adding that all hands are already on deck to ensure free, credible and fair contest.

Professor Yakub disclosed that he had already spoken with the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Oyo State, Barr Mutiu Agboke on the need to deployed seven thousand card readers to Ondo State.

He advised political gladiators and supporters in the two states to give peace a chance and ensure that there is peace before, during and after elections in the state.
