The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Oyo state command today says it has deployed no fewer than 2000 personnel ahead ONDO gubernatorial election.
Iskilu Akinsanya, Oyo state commandant, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists today at the state command headquarters, Ibadan.
He said that the deployed officers would complement personnel of its command in ONDO to enable a free, fair and credible election in the state.
He noted that all deployed personnel were trained on the new electoral guidelines as regards COVID-19 before embarking on the security exercise.
Akinsanya further assured the deployed personnel of adequate provision of logistics for the operation and also cautioned that they worked in harmony with other sister agencies in curbing any act of electoral malpractice and violence that could affect the smooth conduct of the elections.
“To the electorate, they should turn out in masses to vote for leaders of their choice, avoid violence and allow peace to reign because anyone caught will face the full wrath of the law.
