The Six South Western states comprising Ogun,Osun, Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo and Lagos on Tuesday carried out their solidarity protest on the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN), codenamed ‘Operation Amotekun’ launched on the 10 of January 2020.
The rally which took place at the Agodi cenotaph in ibadan was organised by the Development Agenda Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission .
The protest was on the creation of the security outfit to protect the lives and property of the good people of the state collectively.
The various groups who took part in the rally moved from the Agodi cenotaph to secretariat to show appreciation to governor Seyi Makinde and other South -West governors for their good initiative and to show them that they are solidly behind them.
The protest which was led by Evangelist Kunle Adesokan attracted mammoth crowd who came to the scene of the rally to catch a glimpse of the programme.
Evang. Adesokan while speaking on behalf of professor Banji Akintoye the leader of the entire yorubas both home and in diaspora lauded the governor for his magnanimity and fulfilling his promises during his electoral campaign programme in providing adequate security which led to the ceeation of ‘AMOTEKUN ‘ adding that there should be no retreat until there is peace In yoruba land.
Local security groups present at the protest included Odua peoples Congress (OPC), Odua Liberation Movement (OLM) , Federation of Yoruba Conciouness and Culture (FYCC),Alajobi, Agbekoya and many more.
Thay all showed their strong support that Amotekun must stay.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff to the state government, Chief Bisi Ilaka said while address the Congress at secretariat that there should be no need to panick’ saying, Operation Amotekun ‘ has come to stay.
“Amotekun has come to stay.
It is a no retreat no surrender security network because one of the major concern of Engr. Seyi Makinde is security, without security there will be no safety.

South West states to be cordial and united in their operations.
In furtherance he said , in a matter of time Amotekun will go beyond Local government to ward by ward adding that the presence will be highly and powerfully felt.
He promised to do all they can to make sure the Amotekun idea further trends beyond its present level because it is the initiative of the south west geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
Speaking with one of the hunters, king Doctor Nureni Ajijola Anobi who spoke on behalf of other hunters said that they are strongly behind the government so as not to put them to shame.
