The present leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Oyo State council led by Ademola Babalola has been commended on the successes recorded in the last two years of leading the state council.
A group within the union championing the second coming of Ademola Babalola as Chairman under platform “DEMBAB LEEKANSI ” gave this commendation on Monday in a release made available to journalists.
The spokesperson for the group, Lekan Shobo Shobowale expressed satisfaction on many achievements recorded so far by the present Oyo NUJ leadership which have endeared the leadership to many members of the union.
The group specially eulogised the leadership for its members’ oriented programmes and unprecedented welfare packages for members not leaving behind the issues of their health concerns and general well-being.
“We want to express our joy and excitement on many successes recorded by Ademola Babalola-led exco which will be too numerous to mention. Less than twenty fours ago, the Union sponsored “Ibadan 2021 Mission Dental and Eye care” for 1,200 Journalists to be treated free eye care and glasses and dental care needs.
“This is organised for journalists across the state for aching tooth extraction and eye screening and treatment with free glasses.
“As if this is not enough, few minutes after the commencement of this health care programme, the union took delivery of a N30million worth of ICT equipments from the FG/NITDA which was facilitated through a link of the state chairman, Ademola Babalola.
“The union has never had it so good in the last few years. We congratulate the Chairman and members of his executive for a job well done and assured them of our continuous support.”
The group called on all journalists across the state to rise up and team up with Ademola Babalola-led exco and be ready to guard and guide these legacies jealously, for more greater accomplishments in the new year and beyond.
