The Caretaker Chairman, Lagelu Local government area of Oyo State, Honourable Abdulahi Kelani has expressed the determination of his administration to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the council area through agriculture  in order to advance the economy of the local government.
Hon Kelani made the point while addressing journalists on his plans to  improve the economic level of the area and  as well impact meaningfully on the life of the people.

The council chairman who   blamed the dwindling economy  and   IGR of the local government  to poor administration of the immediate past government under the All progressive Congress (APC), said necessary  machinery would be put into motion to revive the economy of Lagelu local government and   achieve the new  feat.

He said: We have plans  to  restore the economy and IGR of Lagelu  council through agriculture. This is in line with the  agricultural programme of Governor Seyi Makinde to boost food production and generate employment for the  youths.’

“We  are preparing 50 Hectares of land to produce cassava. Maize and other crops, we are expecting support from the government too to enable us achieve success in the projects.
“We will resuscitate our poultry farm, Gaari industry and also fish farming among others to boost the (IGR).

Hon Kelani, while thanking the lawmaker representing  Lagelu State Constituency, Hon. Olajide Akintunde  for his support and leadership roles in the area said he has been talking with the Director of Agriculture on how to actualise the  Agricultural projects.

On the success of  Amotekun, Hon Kelani  commended governor Makinde and other south west governors for the feat, just as he promised to support the initiative in his council area.
