The Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during the 2019 Governorship elections in Oyo state, Senator Femi Lanleyin said there is no regret working for the electoral success of Governor Seyi Makinde during the poll.
Senator Lanleyin while reacting to a claim by the All Progressive Congress gubernatorial candidate during the same election Bayo Adelabu that some politicians in the state wanted to work for him but he declined said he never at anytime negotiated with Adelabu to work for him at the poll.
Senator Lanleyin who responded to the claim through a text message to the anchor of the programme, Mayor Isaac Brown and one of the panelists who is also the chairman, Nigeria Union Of Journalists, Oyo State council Demola Babalola said even though the Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi contacted him to work for Bayo Adelabu but he politely declined.
“I do say, I did not negotiate with Chief Bayo Adelabu either directly or indirectly, in fact Dr Kayode Fayemi approached me on his behalf but I respectfully turned him down without ado,I don’t have any regret for being in the coalition that brought in Seyi Makinde. It was the best decision in the circumstance.”
