The immediate past Majority Leader, Oyo State house of assembly Hon Kehinde Subair has admonished Muslims to use the holy month of Ramadan in praying for an end to the coronavirus pandemic.
Hon Kehinde Subair in a release by his media office in Ibadan said Ramadan is a time Almighty Allah accepts prayers and a time for spiritual rebirth, sacrifice and kindness.
“The holy month of Ramadan presented a unique time for Muslims to support the global effort to end the COVID-19 pandemic with fervent prayers to Allah for mercy.
The two term lawmaker described the occurrence of the coronavirus pandemic and its effect as a sign from Allah that the world needs Him for its existence and sustenance.
He urged Muslims to seek more for Allah and his divine guidance not minding many limitations of not gathering together to pray or worship.
“Ramadan is a period to show more kindness to fellow humans no matter their religion, race or gender,’’
Hon Subair emphasised the need for Muslims to observe all precautions against the spread of the coronavirus as advised by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and other health bodies.
“Precautionary measures like physical distancing, use of face mask when going out, washing of hands and covering of mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing must be strictly adhere to by all.”
The former Majority Leader commended President Muhammadu Buhari and his team for being proactive and taken decisive actions in containing the dreaded virus.
