The former caretaker chairman, Ibadan south West LG Gbenga Opaleye has sent a goodwill message to Muslims as they commemorate the successful end of Ramadan.
Hon Opaleye in a release signed by him and made available to journalists said the 30 – day spiritual exercise had drawn the faithful closer to Allah and urged them to put all the lessons learnt during the holy month to good use .
He said , “ The current situation in the country and in the world at large has made it imperative for Muslims and adherents of other religions to live in love , peace and harmony with one another so that we can all confront the raging COVID 19 pandemic.”
“ Prayers by the faithful are needed more than ever for God’s intervention in the affairs of the country and the world at large, ” he said even as he expressed confidence in the ability of God to prosper and keep the country in answer to the sincere prayers of the faithful .
He emphasised the need for Muslims to be their brothers ’ keepers and eschew any conduct that could derail them from the will of Allah.
Hon Opaleye wishes the former Governor of Oyo State now the Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Senator Abiola Ajimobi and the people of Ibadan south West and Ibadan west LCDA and indeed Oyo State in general a celebration of Allah abundance blessing.
