The former Caretaker Chairman, Lagelu Local Government and one of the leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the council area, Hon Abiodun Oladejohas urged electorates in the local government to take the Continuous Voters Registration seriously to enable them vote in their choice candidates during 2023 general elections.
Oladeji made the appeal in Ibadan on Sunday while addressing some journalists.
The former Council Boss said that massive participation of the electorate in the exercise as well as in the choice of their leaders was the only panacea for good governance.
He said that residents of the local government needed to be mobilised to fully participate in the CVR in order to make their voices heard at the appropriate time.
Hon Oladeji commended members of the area especially APC leaders in Lagelu local government for the support they had shown to the party and it’s leaders.
He appealed to them to take the message to all corners of the local government to ensure that they create awareness and made people to be aware of the implications of participating in the CVR.
The APC leaders counselled those that had earlier registered to ensure that they picked up their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
