NUJ president warns against intimidating members — Nigerian Pilot News

The Chairman, Nigeria Union Of Journalists Oyo State council Comrade Demola Babalola has called on the state government to initiate executive bill on the compulsory use of face mask across the state.

Comrade Babalola stated this while playing host to the Oyo State Director, National Orientation Agency Mrs Dolapo Dosumu at the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, Press Centre Iyaganku, Ibadan.

Comrade Babalola said arresting and prosecuting those that fails to complied will help reduce the spread of the virus as well as generating more revenue into the pulse of the state government.

He expressed readiness of the Union to collaborate with the Agency in reducing the spread of COVID 19.

The Chairman commended Mrs Dosunmu for her commitment and dedication to duty as Director in the Agency since assumption to and urged her not to relent in her effort.

In his remark, the Oyo State Director, National Orientation Agency Mrs Dolapo Dosumu appealed for more cooperation from Journalists in the state to reduce the spread of corona virus in the state.

She explained that it is important for men of the pen to put more of their efforts in the campaign against the spread of the virus especially as there are still many who are at still the denial phase.

The NOA Director specifically expressed displeasure at the attitudes of some Transport Workers who out of their nonchallant attitudes have not adhere strictly to protocols and measures of COVID 19 in their day to day activities.

Mrs Dosunmu emphasised the need for journalists to spread the message of hope across the state that COVID 19 is not a death sentence as some people were made to believe.

Mrs Dosunmu later presented souvenirs of the Agency to the Chairman, Comrade Demola Babalola.
