EndSARS: Oyo Governor, Makinde Visits CP, Assures Of Compesation For Victims

The Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has assured the families of the five
policemen killed during the EndSARS protest in the state of Compesation from the N500 million set up by the state government.

Governor Makinde gave this assurance during a visit to the state commissioner of police, Joe Nwachukwu Enweowu at the Eleyele police headquarters over the killings of five police officers and destruction of some police stations, patrol vehicles among others.

Makinde said not all policemen are bad, and that there are many policemen that are always of good behaviour and discharging their duties with fear of God.

The Governor said he also supported the protest by the protesters because of the cause which he also believes in and that part of the demands was for better
welfare package for police personnel but only to be hijacked hoodlums.

“Therefore, I am here to tell you that you are not alone. You must put everything that happened behind you and look forward.

“I am here with you to make the load you are carrying lighter,” Governor Makinde said.
