By Joshua Adetunji

Youths in Ibadan massively trooped out for another #EndSARS protest.

The protest which kick-started at Iwo road brought a stand still to all forms of vehicular movements in some sensitive areas of the state.

With placards displaying different quotes and chanting of “#EndSARS”, protesters matched from Iwo road down to Idi Ape, Gate, Government house and finally to the State Secretariat.

Amongst protests are award winning celebrities who also joined the protesters in protesting against police brutality are Ayo Ajewole (Woli Agba), Muyiwa Ademola, Toyin Abraham and others.

While addressing the protesters, the Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan, who also displayed a placard saying he was once a SARS victim, his efforts to communicate with the protesters proved abortive as he got stoned with bottle water, booed and jeered out of the scene with chants of “We want to see Governor”.

However, the state’s commissioner for youths and sports, Honourable Seun Fakorede, tried calming the protesters as he counted himself as a victim and assuring them that the Governor will be around to address them anytime soon.

They also appreciate the courage and the bold steps the youths have taken in standing up against societal ills.

Till the dispersement of the protesters around 4pm, the Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, who went on a condolence visit to Jimoh’s family in Ogbomosho is yet to return to address them.
