The President, Ogun State Solidarity Movement (OSM), Lekan Shobo Shobowale has urged residents of Ogun state and those in diaspora to use the occasion of year’s Eid el-Kabir to support one another in the spirit of love, unity, sacrifice and dedication to the Almighty Allah.
In a statement signed by OSM Publicity Secretary, Damilola Adekanlu on Thursday said they should join hands to pray for the development of Ogun state, its leadera and the country.
”We holds that the people of Ogun State wherever they are, deserve to be happy and adequately provided for, with the suitable environment to aspire and thrive in all sectors of life; the main reason all citizens must join hands to pray that the leaders in our state gets it right.”
“I also called on the citizens to remember and assist the hurting, particularly, the sick, aged and victims of the current raging COVID 19 pandemic and other natural disasters that have ravaged not only Ogun state but the nation and the world at large.
”Eid-el- Kabir symbolises sacrifice, discipline, faith, the spirit of give and take, love of God and love for our neighbour, obedience to and total submission to God our creator.
”In light of this, I use this opportunity to appeal to the people of Ogun State , not only Muslims but also people of other faith to imbibe the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir in all they do”.
He called on Muslims to continue to uphold and promote the core values of Islam
for the sustenance of peace, unity and progress of the country.
Shobowale felicitated with the former Governor of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and other leaders of Islamic faith in the state as well as other Muslim faithful and wished them the guidance and blessings of Allah.
