In line with Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) CG Ahmed Audi Abubakar phd mni, on the operational order for effective monitoring of Eid-el-fitri celebration to signify the end of this year Ramadan fasting for the Muslim faithfuls in the Country.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Oyo state command, says it has deployed 1,900 personnel to beef up security during the Eid-el-fitr celebrations.
This was contained in a statement signed by the state Commandant, Cc Iskilu Akinsanya and made available to the newsmen on Tuesday in Ibadan the state capital.
Akinsanya said that the personnel had been deployed to all places of worship, market, recreation areas and highways to beef up security before, during and after the festival to allow the citizens to have hitch free celebration across the State.
Disclosing this today at the Command State Headquarters, Agodi Ibadan during this year annual Strategic meeting of all intelligence officers of NSCDC across the 33 local government and 35 lcda. Commandant Iskilu Akinsanya enjoined the intelligence officers to be more proactive as the Country and State can only be well secured when timely information is given to Security agencies to nib crime on bud.
Meanwhile, as the festivities is usually accompanied by movement of persons and vehicles that require special and elaborate Security arrangements to ensure that celebrations are hitch free and successful, the State Commandant has made it compulsory that all entrance to the State should be policing such as, Abeokuta to Ibadan,Iseyin axis, Iwo, Lagos/Ibadan highway and Ogbomoso axis. Also, the disaster management officers and Command ambulance are to be on standby throughout the Eid-el-fitri celebration.
In the same vein, the Commandant call on the Muslim faithful in Oyo State to be law abiding during the Eid-el-fitri celebrations and enjoined them to always remember the importance of Unity, love and religion tolerance towards the promotion of growth and development of our dear Country, and imbibe the lesson of sacrifice and obedience learnt during the fasting period.
