2023 Governorship hopeful in Oyo State and Osi Basorun of Ibadanland, Prince Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has appealed to Muslims in the state & the nation,to reflect on the significance of the RAMADAN as a religious obligation and put to use the spiritual lessons learned during the period of the 30-days Ramadan fast.
In a statement issued in Ibadan through his media office and made available to journalists, the world revered cardio vascular surgeon felicitates with the entire Muslim Ummahs in the state, Nigeria and the world at large, on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and celebration of Eid-el-Fitri.
Alhaji Adeduntan urged residents of the State especially the privileged to empathize with the poor and remember them during this period.
“With the current economic realities confronting our society, this is not the period to turn a deaf ear to their crying for the amelioration of their situation.”
“The importance of Eid-el-Fitr therefore should not be lost on us.
More than ever before, these lessons are relevant in our personal and public lives if we are to make progress as a state and nation.
“I therefore urge the good people of Oyo State, Nigerians-Muslims and non- Muslims alike ,to use the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr to reflect on the lessons and importance of this period with a view to being a better neighbour.
Prince Dr. Adeduntan expressed belief that with discipline, piety, humility, scholarship, good neighbourliness or a sense of consideration for others and renewal of faith in Almighty Allah, the nation and the state shall prevail.
Alhaji Adeduntan used the occasion to beseech almighty Allah to grant eternal repose to the souls of all our departed first class OBAS -ADETUNJI,Adeyemi 111 and OYEWUMI and happy Eid to those of us alive .
