The Are Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola, The Chairman, Muslim Community in Oyo State, Alhaji Kunle Sanni, immediate past Executive Secretary, National Commission for Nomadic Education, Professor Rashid Aderinoye,among others have showered encomium on the 2023 Governorship Hopeful, -Chief Dr Azeez Popoola Adeduntan for his being one of the shinning lights of Islam and Ibadanland.
According to a release through the media office of Chief Dr Azeez Popoola Adeduntan who is also the Osi Basorun of Ibadanland, the commendation was given at the maiden hosting of leaders of Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) by the Are Musulumi of Yorubaland, held at his Agodi Residence Ibadan.
Alhaji Makanjuola described Adeduntan as one of the blessings to Ibadanland ,Oyo State & Nigeria as a whole and emphasised on the need for other muslim professionals and influentials to emulate him.
He disclosed his readiness to begin the yearly hosting of the group in order to complement the good works done by the late Alhaji Abdul Azeez Arisekola Alao and Others.
In his remark, the Chairman, Muslim community in the state, Alhaji Kunle Sanni explained that he was excited and proud to be associated with Adeduntan, adding that their relationship began some years ago when Adeduntan was the state commissioner of health during the administration of Late Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
Alhaji Sanni said Oyo State Muslim community needs people like Adeduntan ,who can use their God given wealth to assist the less privileged and propagate the mores of Islam as a religion of Peace.
He charged the International cardiovascular Surgeon to also join in assisting the growth and infrastructural development of the Islamic Vacation Course -IVC camp located Along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
While responding, Osi Basorun Adeduntan who was made the chairman of the occasion by affirmation and unanimously,attributed his brilliance and academic prowess to his early childhood studying of the Holy Qur’an and prompt attendance at Quranic study centre.
He re-affirmed his belief in the Almighty Allah and all his prophets without exceptions,and pledged to do more for the spread of Islam calling on members of the society to be pious and serve Allah and humanity.
Osi Basorun Adeduntan at the event which he chaired also made a donation to the development of the centre.
