The Osi Bashorun of Ibadanland and world revered Cardio Vascular Surgeon, Chief Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has urged residents of Oyo state not to panic with Sunday morning report of a Covid 19 patient at Bodija, Ibadan.
Chief Dr. Adeduntan in a release by his media aide Lekan Shobowale said residents should only protect and prevent themselves amidst the pandemic and ensure they are safe.
The immediate past commissioner of health in Oyo state stated that he aligned with the decision by the Federal Government to restrict public gatherings, and shuting down major entry points into the nation.
The issue of the appropriateness of the usage of Chloroquine and hyroxychloroquine is based on anecdotal experience as no controlled clinical data is available at the moment.
This medication must therefore be used with caution as major side effects include kidney and liver failure.
He also expresses support for precautionary measures put in place against the spread of Coronavirus adding that they are all for the benefit of the people,.
“As a stakeholder in the “Project Oyo” and a subject of his imperial Majesty, Oba Soliu Adetunji, Aje Oguguniso 1, Olubadan of Ibadanland the health of my people in Oyo state is paramount to me nd we must all join hands in all endeavour to be supportive of any move in that direction.”
He said the nation and the state will get over this period just like similar ones in the past and advised Nigerians to comply with all the guidelines made available
by health practitioners in containing the spread of the disease.
