The Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Mallami has called for the restoration of the democratically elected third tier government that Governor Seyi Makinde had ‘illegally’ replaced with an unconstitutional contraception called “Caretaker Committee” which is unelected and unknown to the law in disregard of section 7(1) of the 1999 constitution (as amended).
In furtherance to the statement of the Attorney-General of Federation, Abubakar Mallami, the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Oyo State, Prince Abass Aleshiloye has clamour for the Governor, Engr.Seyi Makinde to cooperate with them as they plan to resume immediately as democratically elected local government councils chairmen in obedience to the judgement of the Supreme Court.
Oyo ALGON added that no government nor House of Assembly has the right to embark on a futile unconstitutional journey to trample upon the law in order to predetermined illegal act like governor Makinde had done.
ALGON members assured the people of Oyo State and the Governor that, as the elected chairmen, they are always ready to work with the government for oyo state to achieve a greater height.
According ALGON, governor Makinde has nothing to fear since they have no grudges against him.
