The Baale Ekoteedo, Chief Taye Ayorinde (JP) has installed prominent
personalities as chiefs in Ekoteedo communities.
In his remarks at the well attended Vermont, Baale Ekotedo, Chief Taye Ayorinde who is also the chairman, Yoruba World Assembly said the honourees were awarded because of their service to the community.
He called on them not to relent in their consistent service to Ekotedo community, Ibadanland and Oyo state as a whole.
Chief Ayorinde emphasised the need for effective community development if there will be a genuine societal growth.
Chief Ayorinde, cautioned the honouree not to misuse their new duties but to work for the development of Ekoteedo where they were honoured.
“This chieftaincy award is not an avenue to collect money from anyone, as it is just to honour those who deserve the award after studying them years before finding them worthy and qualified for the post.”
Speaking with Nigeria Alert News, the newly installed Baamo of Ekotedo, Chief Ayo Ibirogba stated that the honour was unexpected especially at this time.
“I wasn’t expecting this award. Although, I’m not a native of Ibadan, but I’ve always find it easy doing the right thing anywhere I find myself.”
“Now that I’m an indigene of Ibadan by honour, as I’ve been installed as a chief in Ibadan, I promise to discharge the best of my abilitiea and responsibilities.” he added.
The honourees includes Oloye Ayo Ibirogba, Oloye Kunle Ayorinde, Mrs Gbemi Adedapo among others.
