Nigeria Alert Thursday 13th January 2022

The Founder, Opeyemi Semiu Foundation (OSF) and a staunch member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ido local government area of Oyo State and a strong grassroot mobiliser, Hon Semiu Opeyemi Folarin as described the death of former Oyo State Governor, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, a big loss, Oyo APC and the state in general.

In a condolence message made available to journalists in Ibadan through his media office, Hon Folarin said he received the news of the death of Otunba Akala with a rude shock especially when he shown no sign of illness.

He stated that the former Governor was one political leader with wealth of experience and never discard the younger ones no matter the distance between them.

He called on leaders of APC in the state to use the sad period to rally round and ensure the crisis rocking Oyo State APC is resolved.

Also, Hon Folarin has commiserate the family of the immediate past Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji (Aje Ogunguniso 1) who joined his ancestors last recently.

Hon Folarin stated that Oba Adetunji would be missed for his peaceful reign and development brought to Ibadanland.

Oba Adetunji, 93 passed away in the early hours of this morning at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan.

Folarin said with the passage of the monarch, Ibadan land has truly lost a great man, a leader per Exellence and a great lover of Ibadan city.

He extended his condolence message on behalf of his teeming supporters in Ido Local Government to the family of Oba Adetunji, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), the Olubadan in Council and indeed the entire sons and daughters in Ibadan over the passage of the revered monarch, prayed Almighty Allah to forgive him his shortcomings and admit him to aljanat fridaus

Oba Adetunji was survived by his wife, Olori Rashidat Ololade Adetunji, Children, grand children and great grand children.
