The Oyo State chapter of All Progressive Congress (APC) has advised the state governor Engr Seyi Makinde led government in the state to be more proactive in preventing disaster in the state.
The party through its publicity Secretary Dr Azeez Olatunde while reacting to the incessant inferno in the state said the state government ought to had put in place repeated sensitization in all media channels as well as emergency lines to forestall future occurrences which the state government has failed to do.
“It is terribly unfortunate that the inferno is following one another from Eyin Grammar Molete, Ibadan where three kids lost their lifes to the inferno on Friday 3rd January 2020 to the furniture stores around Iyaganku axis in Ibadan which was razed down to rubble by the inferno and now another conflagrating inferno that razed Akesan market in Oyo town o Sunday.”
“Nigerian Meteorological Agency has beencommending Oyo State government under the former governor Abiola Ajimobi for many years because of his government pro-activeness in dredging the rivers across Oyo State before raining seasons and continuous and repeated announcement of dedicated fire services lines .”
“Finally, we urge H.E Engr Seyi Makinde to find a way of giving palliative measures to the victims of the inferno through OYSEMA and provide consumables for the victims.” the statement added.
