The international surgeon and oyo state governorship aspirant during the 2019 elction on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC ) Chief Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has expressed sympathy with traders at Akeesan market Oyo who suffered heavy losses following a fire incident in the early hours of Sunday.
According to a statement by his media aide Lekan Shobowale, the Osi Bashorun Of Ibadan Land, Chief Dr Adeduntan said he was deeply touched by the unfortunate disaster.
He said the reported loss of a large number of shops and containers “is economically destabilizing for the victims.
“This fire disaster is an incalculable set- back for the victims who have lost what they laboured for,” adding that he felt their pains with the greatest sense of empathy.
“Regardless of our social status, we are connected by our common humanity, and therefore, as one of you, I fully understand what this unfortunate fire incident meant for the lives of the victims and their families,” he said.
The founder Dr Azeez Popoola Adeduntan Foundation (DAPAF) also commiserated with his imperial majesty, the Alaafin Of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111 and the entire people of Oyo kingdom over the fire disaster, and prayed to almighty Allah to turn their losses into greater blessings.
He then called on the people of Oyo to remain calm and await interventions in the course of getting their burnt businesses back on track as violence should be shunned at this sad moment.
