Consequent upon the Commandant General’s directives on the World Civil Defence Day Celebration across all State Commands in the federation, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Oyo State Command Headquarters kickstarted the week long programme with Jummat Service on Friday held at the Fire Service Mosque Secretariat Agodi Ibadan to commemorate the WCDD 2022

The chief Imam of the Mosque, Alhaji Salmon Akeem Alarape commended the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on their role in protection of lives and properties across the nation and added that only God can reward the personnel for the service they are rendering to their fatherland.

He appeal to government to provide more logistics support, training, human resources and welfare packages to encourage the officers and men of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

He further prayed for protection of God upon all officers and men of NSCDC and peace in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, other events lined up for the programme include: Health Walk in major areas of Ibadan metropolis and across the various formations in the State on Saturday, February 26, 2022.

And on Sunday, February 27, 2022, a commemorative church service would be held at Oritamefa Baptist Church,Total Garden Ibadan while on Monday, February 28, 2022, there will be Sensitization and training in schools and markets across formations in the State.

To cap it all, on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, there will be keynote lecture by Prof Rasheed Okunola of University of Ibadan, WCDD address Simulation and Parade at the state command Headquarters old Nitel building Agodi Ibadan.

Commandant Adaralewa Michael Akintayo congratulate all officers and men of the Command and encourage them to give their best services to their fatherland.

Notable among those that celebrated with NSCDC at the Mosque included Commissioner for Special Duties Alhaja Faosat Ajoke sanni.
