At Last, Dino Melaye Surrenders to Police


The Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye has finally surrendered himself to the police for arrest following a siege on his Abuja residence.

The embattled lawmaker who has been accused of illegal possession of arms, gun running and sponsoring hoodlums in his home state, Kogi was faced with about 20 police officers  at his Maitama Abuja home since Friday, December 28, but has refused to surrender, saying he was not in Abuja.

Melaye who is standing trial in more than one suit, is reported to currently be in the custody of the police Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Abuja along with some of lawmakers from the National Assembly who accompanied him.
