I Won’t Fund Buhari’s 2019 Campaign with Tax Payers’ Money - Fashola

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, says he would never divert tax payers’ money to fund the campaign of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The minister made the comment in Sokoto, following a 2-day retreat for management staff of the ministry.

Fashola disclosed that his ministry had received and turned down dozens of requests from political organizations soliciting campaign funds for President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said: “Certainly not under my watch this will happen. We never did it and we will not do it.

“Campaigns need money; but members of the public must understand that government is not a place for people who want to play politics to expect that funding will come from.”
