Lagos Guber: This is Sanwo-Olu’s Running Mate


The All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos state chapter, has picked a former Commissioner for Works in the state, Femi Hamzat as the running mate to its governorship candidate Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The state party leaders officially unveiled and presented Hamzat as Sanwo-Olu’s running mate on Sunday, November 4 at the party secretariat.

Recall that during the keenly-contested Lagos governorship primaries, Hamzat, a leading aspirant, stepped down for Sanwo-Olu in the primary that held on Sunday, September 30 across the state.

While announcing his decision to step down, Hamzat had enjoined all his supporters to work for Sanwo-Olu, saying the decision is in the collective interest of the party.

The governorship primary ended up being a straight fight between the incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Governor Ambode lost the primary to Sanwo-Olu, who will now represent the APC against parties like the Peoples Democratic Party and a host of others in the elections in 2019.
